Biographical Info
Cathy Sonnenberg attended the New England Conservatory of Music on a full scholarship. She studied piano with Veronica Jochum and Theodore Lettvin, and chamber music with Benjamin Zander. She sang in the Conservatory chorus directed by renowned choral conductor Lorna Cooke DeVaron and under the baton of Seiji Ozawa of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Cathy has given piano recitals in the Canary Islands, Madrid and Boston, played cabaret shows in Philadelphia, and conducted and accompanied Camden Catholic High School’s chorus. She performed in the Liberace Revue at the Tropicana in Atlantic City and served the Marian Anderson Historical Society as pianist for the unveiling of the Marian Anderson Stamp at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. She has also accompanied NY City Opera baritone Robert McFarland.
Cathy works with 3 different groups of people with disabilities: She is Associate Director of Joyful Noise, a chorus hosted by Bancroft, she is Director of SAIL SINGS, sponsored by Jewish Family Services in Cherry Hill, and she teaches at the Hollydell School for children. Formerly organist at Embury Methodist Church in Collingswood, NJ and St. Mark’s at the Crossing Episcopal Church in Williamstown, NJ, Cathy currently serves as Organist at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Glassboro, NJ. She accompanies music students at Rowan University and is the mentor for pianists and instrumentalist at The Arts 4 Teens Festival at Rutgers University, Camden, NJ.
Sara Smith
violinistBiographical Info
Sara Smith is a violinist from Southern New Jersey, who under the tutelage of world renown soloist Lenuta Ciulei, received a Bachelor’s of Music Education from Rowan University. Sara has also performed all over New Jersey and in NY, her most notable performances being at Carnegie Hall with the “Manhattan Symphonie”, and at Lincoln Center with the “International Chamber Orchestra of America”. Sara has also toured with the “Manhattan Symphonie” in China, attended the “Orvieto Festival of Strings” in Italy for two summers, and also plays with the “Jersey Shore Pops”, the “Garden State Philharmonic”, and the “Road Theater Company” in Williamstown. In addition to performing, Sara also teaches strings in the Evesham School District.
